Monkey Slippers – Oh Yeah!

So this was a monumental decision today… I usually avoid slippers at all costs because, well…. let’s face it, most lady’s slippers SUCK! They’re ugly and look like old lady slippers.

Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing adverse about being an old lady (except the pain, incontinence, Medicare nightmare, and having to choose between food and the 12 bottles of meds prescribed by the fifth HMO doc you’ve seen this month – but that’s fodder for several other posts).

Hell, I hope to make it to old-ladydom myself someday and I’ll probably STILL hate the slipper offerings.

So today I went in search of a pair of slippers. Mostly because I was tired of walking through slobbery dog water in my socks… Um gross! And now, at night, it’s too cold to just wear flip-flops.

I wasn’t holding my breath, I have to admit. I was grinding my teeth though. Because I was bracing myself while getting ready to enter ugly slipper land.
At first, it was exactly as expected. I very quickly dismissed about 20 pairs of teeth-gnashing worthy offerings. And then….. What’s this?!?! YES! Look at these!

And now I get to blog in my Nick and Nora monkey slippers. All is right with the world. =)
